Bo Wong
Bo Wong (@b_o_w_o_n_g) is a photographer in Western Australia working with art, artwork and craft documentation, architecture and portraiture. Bo runs workshops, mentorships and a consultancy service for people and organisations interested in documentation, digitisation and digital asset management. Her podcast with fellow workshop facilitator Amy Snoekstra is called Soul Traders Podcast, exploring the ins and outs of running a creative business as a Australian freelancer.
“I’ve studied Art Theory, Aboriginal Studies, Photography and Photomedia – in that order. I’m passionate about reproducing artworks and representing artist’s work with integrity and continue to run workshops and skills development for emerging and mid-career artists and arts organisations including Curtin BFA graduating students.
I haven’t been counting, but I know that I’ve photographed at least tens of thousands of artworks including paintings, works on paper (framed and unframed), multi media works and objects made of glass, metal, wood, ceramics, pop sticks, human hair, echidna quills, infectious diseases and anything else you can think of. I have shot the backs of paintings, cracks in paintings, used UV light to shoot under paintings and more than once, shot sound only artworks (nice speakers!).”
