Ysabella Morellini (@bellamorellini) is an artist currently working in Perth, Western Australia. Graduating from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelors of Design majoring in Fine Art and Art History, Morellini captures the intangible within her sculptural and installation artwork. Manipulating the physical and ephemeral, Morellini gives form to that which cannot be held, creating physicality out of the intangible and immaterial. Through the process of deconstructing memories, emotions and her surroundings Morellini develops process based abstractions and material manipulation to create varying sculptural forms, using light, shadows and found materials within her artwork.
Morellini’s artwork gives physical presence to feelings of anxiety, exploring ecological and emotional panic her artwork creates metaphorical and physical environments within the gallery space that manipulate the viewer’s perceptions of reality.
